Oceania Hospitals Pte Ltd implemented BSP’s Internet Payment Gateway online payment portal to improve its ability to accept payments through its website for medical services.
According to a statement, OHPL Acting Director General Murgessan Pillay (Morgan) confirmed that patients can now pay medical bills seamlessly online using a BSP EasyCard or any which VISA card.
This facility would also benefit from the Facilitation of Telehealth Services, a new initiative that Oceania Hospitals had planned for early 2022.
“We are delighted to offer this more convenient and cost effective payment option to make it easier for patients to access much-needed medical treatment in a timely manner,” he said.
“We face challenges when clients arrive at the hospital in need of urgent care and loved ones are tasked with organizing funds to cover hospital costs.
“The IPG BSP also offers relatives a more transparent channel to pay directly for the hospital, whether they are in Fiji or overseas. “
OHPL said it was grateful for BSP’s latest offering, which expands its range of payment options for the convenience of its customers.
A press release from the company said BSP deployed its IPG solution earlier this year to help online businesses cope with the growing demand for an end-to-end online shopping experience due to the COVID situation.
BSP Country Manager Haroon Ali said he is delighted to support Oceania Hospitals’ goal of providing top quality medical care by facilitating online payments for BSP EasyCard and all VISA cardholders, wherever they are.
He stressed that security was of paramount importance in the development of this solution.
“Our robust and secure IPG platform includes a 2-factor authentication protocol that protects the cardholder,” Ali said.
Oceania Hospital has been operating in Fiji since 2001 with BSP Life as the main shareholder, the statement said.
