People with state-issued ID can skip the office appointment booking and renew online by going to payments.ncdot.gov and follow the instructions. State-issued identity documents can be renewed up to six months before they expire. The price for renewing an ID is $ 14, plus an online convenience fee of $ 3. However, there are also ID card holders who can renew for free.
