DPO and Mastercard launch an online payment platform

One of Africa’s leading online and digital payment providers, DPO Group, launched its services in the country at a ceremony in Accra.

In partnership with Mastercard, the DPO Group payment solution is set to revolutionize the digital payment industry in the country by enabling consumers to purchase products and services in any currency in about 20 countries DPO operates in Africa.

Business Development Manager and Country Director of DPO Ghana, Mr. Manasseh Narh said the advantage for businesses in the country is that they can sell their products and services to any consumer in any of the 20 African countries and continue to receive payments in cedis.

He said the new innovation will significantly improve business operations, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), and help them take advantage of the African Intercontinental Free Trade Area (AfCTA).

“This payment system can support a business and expose its products and services beyond Ghana to other African countries that use multiple currencies. This is what the AfCTA is about,” he said.

Growth

Mastercard Country Manager Mr. Bossman Akuffo Kwapong said the country’s digital payment solution and e-commerce has grown exponentially.

Such growth, he said, provides new opportunities and advantages for businesses to grow and expand.

“Mastercard wants to enable one billion customers to use digital payments by 2025.

Digital payment solutions not only contribute to business growth, but also to financial inclusion,” he said.

He described the collaboration between DPO and Mastercard as a step in the right direction that would help bring world-class solutions in the field of digital payments and relieve customers,” he added.
