BMC Online Services To Be Closed June 11-28 | Bombay News



MUMBAI: With the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) upgrading its in-house SAP software and servers, BMC’s online services will not be available from June 11 to 28 for a period of 15 days.
However, services outside of its SAP system, such as paying property tax, water bills, and building plan approvals, will be available. BMC uses SAP as its core software to meet the different needs of citizens, contractors and employees.
“To provide the best service and upgrade the SAP system with enhanced security, BMC is implementing SAP HANA as a new version of the SAP system that provides users with faster applications with real-time generation of reports in line, a document management function, faster testing of new applications, new user interface, more responsive and user-friendly mobile applications, and various dashboards. It is necessary to convert / migrate current SAP systems to the SAP HANA platform for which approximately 15 days downtime is required. Due to the expiration of the current cloud services contract, the work of migrating BMC applications to the new cloud service contract will also be resumed during this downtime, during this period, the SAP servers will be migrated to another center. data and will be converted to the SAP HANA platform, ”said a city official.
Since BMC will use the state government e-procurement system, the bidding process for all departments will continue.
