Amarnath Board of Directors Launches Online Services; the faithful pay 1,100 for the pooja


The Amarnath Shrine Council on Tuesday launched online services, such as live Darshan and prasad reservation for devotees of Lord Shiva. With the services, devotees at Amarnath Cave Shrine will be able to book their pooja and priests virtually, a spokesperson for the board said.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha launched various online services of the Amarnath Shrine Council on Tuesday to provide a personal experience for worshipers.

Last month, the administration of Jammu and Kashmir canceled the Amarnath Yatra due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Therefore, Amarnath Shrine Council has expanded online services including virtual pooja for worshipers on their behalf, virtual hawan (with darshan) by name, and online prasad reservation.

“For millions of devotees who cannot visit the sacred cave of Shri Amarnath Ji this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Shrine Council has put the Darshan, Hawan and Prasad facilities in virtual mode. can book their Pooja, Hawan and Prasad online, and the priests of the holy cave will offer it on behalf of the devotee. Prasad will then be delivered to the gates of the devotees, ”a board spokesperson said.

“The Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board is expanding online services, including virtual pooja for worshipers on their behalf, virtual hawan (with darshan) by name, and online prasad booking,” said Nitishwar Kumar, CEO of the Shrine Board. .

Kumar said worshipers can book services through the board’s website and also through the board’s mobile app starting Tuesday.

The faithful will have to pay ??1,100 for virtual pooja, ??1,100 for the reservation of prasad (with a 5 g silver coin of Amarnathji), ??2 100 for the reservation of prasad (with a 10 g silver coin of Amarnathji), ??5,100 for the special hawan or a combination of any of the above, he added.

The virtual pooja or hawan would be performed by the priest of the holy cave by pronouncing the name and “gotra” of the devotee as well as the chanting of “mantras and shlokas”, he said.

Worshipers would be allowed to access an online virtual room through the Jio dating app where they would have a special virtual pooja and sacred ice “lingam” darshan in their name, the CEO of the board of directors said. Amarnath shrine.

“We are in the process of making an agreement with the postal service to ship the prasad within 48 hours,” Kumar said.
